Dear Family!

The Collect for the Solemnity of Corpus Christi is read as follows: “O God, who in this wonderful Sacrament have left us a memorial of your Passion, grant us, we pray, so to revere the sacred mysteries of your Body and Blood that we may always experience in ourselves the fruits of your redemption. Who live and reign with God the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.” Saint Thomas Aquinas.

Elizabeth Anscombe, a philosopher once told the story of a child – The child had gradually been introduced to the mystery of the Eucharist in simple language. The mother was coming back from Holy Communion and was met by the child in the free space at the back of the church. “Is He in you?” the child asked. “Yes,” said the mother and to her amazement the child immediately prostrated before her!

This innocence of a child is one of the hardest language for adults to understand and grasp. When Pope Urban IV promulgated the feast of Corpus of Christ, he rejuvenated our child-like innocence when we approach the Sacrament. His longing, thirsting (Psalm 62) as expressed in the prayers of Saint Thomas Aquinas is indeed the expression of the universal church in her devotion to the Blessed Sacrament.

Please prayerfully consider reflecting these following questions for your personal prayer. 1. What does the Eucharist mean to you, to your family and friends? 2. How could the parish draw people into greater devotion to the Blessed Sacrament? 3. How could we share this Eucharistic blessing with our young people? 4. What are the implications of the Eucharist for life after Mass? (Bishop Anthony Fisher OP).

Diocesan Jubilee Pilgrimage to the National Shrine in Washington, DC, (Sept. 20)

Transfer of priest in our Parish: There were a quite a few transfers this year in our diocese. Our Bishop has transferred Father Fredy Triana Beltran from our parish to minister at Holy Family Parish, New Brunswick effective August 1st. We will be welcoming Father Alexander A. Carles, the Parochial vicar from Mary, Mother of God, Hillsborough to our parish on August 1st. Please pray for these two priests in their transition and thank them for their ministry.

150th Anniversary of Catholic Education in Phillipsburg
As the anniversary approaches near, there are preliminary preparations that need to happen. We need to form a leadership team to plan and execute. We are looking for volunteers to be part of the leadership team. All are welcome!

Jubilee Year 2025: (Jubilees in June)
These are remaining Jubilees for the month of June: On the 20th & 21st we have the Jubilee of Governments. Since we are so close to the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart, we have Jubilee of Seminarians (June 23 & 24), Jubilee of Bishops (June 25), Jubilee of Priests (June 25-27) and we complete the month of June with the Jubilee of Youth (From June 28th to July 3rd).

New Coordinators for Liturgical Ministries: Starting July 1, 2025, the Eucharistic Ministers will be coordinated by Beth Ann Dispoto with Margie Markus, Karen Juliano and Robert Hopkins supporting with scheduling. The leadership is renewable every year as we believe in team work and sharing of leadership. If you would like to be a Eucharistic Minister, please contact any Clergy or talk to any Eucharistic Minister. Rob Anselmo, our deacon candidate will coordinate the Lectors and Ushers. Please talk to any clergy or lector if you like to serve as a lector.

The Prophets: Bible study program organized by the Diocese: The diocese will host the Bible study program from September 4th to December 18th. More information within the bulletin.

Summer Choir Camp for 3rd to 8th grade children: Our Cathedral at Metuchen is hosting this event from August 11th to 15th. Please contact the office for more information.

Surviving Divorce (8 week program organized by the Diocese): This program is for couples seeking healing from separation or divorce. It starts on October 1st and ends on November 19th. The sessions will only be on Wednesdays 6:30pm to 8:00pm at the Pastoral Center. More information within the bulletin.

Santísimo Cuerpo Y Sangre De Cristo

¡Querida familia!

La Oración Colecta para la Solemnidad del Corpus Christi se lee así: «Oh Dios, que en este admirable Sacramento nos dejaste un memorial de tu Pasión, concédenos, te rogamos, venerar de tal manera los sagrados misterios de tu Cuerpo y Sangre que experimentemos siempre en nosotros los frutos de tu redención. Tú que vives y reinas con Dios Padre en la unidad del Espíritu Santo, un solo Dios, por los siglos de los siglos. Amén». Santo Tomás de Aquino.

Elizabeth Anscombe, filósofa, contó la historia de una niña. La niña se había ido familiarizando gradualmente con el misterio de la Eucaristía en un lenguaje sencillo. La madre regresaba de la Sagrada Comunión y la niña la recibió en el espacio libre al fondo de la iglesia. "¿Está Él en ti?", preguntó la niña. "Sí", respondió la madre, y para su asombro, ¡la niña se postró ante ella de inmediato!

Esta inocencia infantil es uno de los lenguajes más difíciles de comprender para los adultos. Cuando el Papa Urbano IV promulgó la fiesta del Corpus Christi, rejuveneció nuestra inocencia infantil al acercarnos al Sacramento. Su anhelo, su sed (Salmo 62), expresado en las oraciones de Santo Tomás de Aquino, es sin duda la expresión de la Iglesia universal en su devoción al Santísimo Sacramento.

Peregrinación Jubilar Diocesana al Santuario Nacional en Washington, DC, (20 de septiembre)

Traslado de sacerdote en nuestra parroquia: Este año hubo varios traslados en nuestra diócesis. Nuestro obispo trasladó al padre Fredy Triana Beltrán de nuestra parroquia a la parroquia de la Sagrada Familia en Nuevo Brunswick, a partir del 1 de agosto. El 1 de agosto daremos la bienvenida al padre Alexander A. Carles, vicario parroquial de María, Madre de Dios, en Hillsborough. Les pedimos que oren por estos dos sacerdotes en su transición y les agradezcan su ministerio.

150.º Aniversario de la Educación Católica en Phillipsburg
A medida que se acerca el aniversario, es necesario realizar preparativos preliminares. Necesitamos formar un equipo de liderazgo para planificar y ejecutar. Buscamos voluntarios para formar parte del equipo de liderazgo. ¡Todos son bienvenidos!

Año Jubilar 2025: (Jubileos en junio)
Estos son los Jubileos restantes del mes de junio: Los días 20 y 21 tenemos el Jubileo de los Gobiernos. Por la proximidad de la Solemnidad del Sagrado Corazón, tenemos el Jubileo de los Seminaristas (23 y 24 de junio), el Jubileo de los Obispos (25 de junio), el Jubileo de los Sacerdotes (25-27 de junio) y completamos el mes de junio con el Jubileo de la Juventud (del 28 de junio al 3 de julio).

Nuevos Coordinadores de Ministerios Litúrgicos: A partir del 1 de julio de 2025, los Ministros de la Eucaristía serán coordinados por Beth Ann Dispoto, con el apoyo de Margie Markus, Karen Juliano y Robert Hopkins en la programación. El liderazgo es renovable cada año, ya que creemos en el trabajo en equipo y en compartir el liderazgo. Si desea ser Ministro de la Eucaristía, comuníquese con cualquier clérigo o hable con cualquier Ministro de la Eucaristía. Sobreviviendo al Divorcio (programa de 8 semanas organizado por la Diócesis): Este programa está dirigido a parejas que buscan sanar tras una separación o divorcio.
