Dear Family!

Happy Holy Family Sunday! I am not sure if you noticed that I always addressed my bulletin notes to ‘Family’. You are my family; in you I rejoice; through you I witness a God’s love and hope; with you my faith is strengthened. I pray with St. Paul (Philippians 1:3-11) on this Feast of the Holy Family that we may reflect the holiness and commitment of Jesus, Mary and Joseph.

Church teaches us that “Marriage is a lifelong and faithful union of a man and a woman mutually committed to sharing their life and love together. Modeled after and strengthened by God's own love for his people, it's an intimate partnership in which each person gives the other freedom to grow, and which is directed toward bearing fruit.”

A family becomes holy when God is the central figure, devoid of our human nature. Mary and Joseph though humans, share the divinity of Godhead in the Incarnate Word - Jesus. Christ chose to be born and grow up in the bosom of the holy family, and the Church is nothing other than ‘the family of God (CCC 1655)

Church is on a journey (Second Vatican). Family is a natural church journeying with the Living Word though faced with trials, confusions and disappointments. (Spe Salve) Both the parents and children should be aware of their responsibility thus, family in God’s plan, is a community where everyone has growing to do. Maybe that is why the Second Reading talks so much about forgiveness and forbearance! Let us grow together as a family as we begin this New Year!

Pastor’s Appeal - Thanks to all of you for your efforts: I am forever grateful to all of you for your generosity. Thank you for all you donations! Mercy Hall boiler situation has been a huge concern this year as we have been repairing the boiler for so many years and reached a point where we couldn’t do it anymore. The contract has been signed and with your support and prayers we have begun this project! As part of this year’s Pastor’s Appeal, the second and the last project for this year is the Church Doors. A Contract was signed last week for this, and we hope to complete repairing the church doors in the early part of January 2026. You have made this possible for the parish with your prayers and donations! Thank you!

Conclusion of the Jubilee Year
The Jubilee of Prisoners that we celebrated last weekend (December 14th) was the last Jubilee and with that the Jubilee Year 2025 comes to an end in dioceses around the world on the Feast of the Holy Family (December 28, 2025), but in Rome, it will not end until January 6, 2026 with the closing of the Holy Doors at St. Peter’s Basilica, that is the way Pope Francis mentioned it in his Decree. (Jubilee also began earlier in Rome).

Special thanks to Our Choir, Decoration Ministry, Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Sacristans, Linen Ladies, Altar Servers and all Clergy: I thank all the members of our Parish Choir and The Hispanic Choir for all the hours sacrificed in preparation and worship to glorify God and help people pray! Thank you for your dedicated service to God and Community! The Decoration Committee has done so well throughout the year, taking care of flowers, plants, decorations, linen etc. Thank you for all your efforts to keep the church beautiful and providing people with a good ambience. My heart goes out to all our volunteers who keep the Church alive by their sacrifices! Thank you all! May we all be filled with God’s grace to renew our commitment to God and Church as we begin the New Year!

Sagrada Familia De Jesús, María, Y José

¡Querida familia!

¡Feliz Domingo de la Sagrada Familia! No sé si se han dado cuenta de que siempre me dirijo a ustedes como "Familia" en mis notas del boletín. Ustedes son mi familia; en ustedes encuentro alegría; a través de ustedes soy testigo del amor y la esperanza de Dios; con ustedes mi fe se fortalece. En esta Fiesta de la Sagrada Familia, oro con San Pablo (Filipenses 1:3- 11) para que podamos reflejar la santidad y el compromiso de Jesús, María y José.

La Iglesia nos enseña que el matrimonio es una unión para toda la vida y fiel entre un hombre y una mujer, comprometidos mutuamente a compartir su vida y su amor. Inspirado y fortalecido por el amor de Dios hacia su pueblo, es una relación íntima en la que cada persona le da a la otra la libertad de crecer, y que está orientada a dar fruto.

Una familia se santifica cuando Dios es la figura central, trascendiendo nuestra naturaleza humana. María y José, aunque humanos, comparten la divinidad de Dios en el Verbo Encarnado: Jesús. Cristo eligió nacer y crecer en el seno de la Sagrada Familia, y la Iglesia no es otra cosa que «la familia de Dios» (CCC 1655).

La Iglesia está en camino (Concilio Vaticano II). La familia es una iglesia natural que camina con la Palabra viva, aunque se enfrenta a pruebas, confusiones y decepciones (Spe Salvi). Tanto los padres como los hijos deben ser conscientes de su responsabilidad; por lo tanto, la familia, según el plan de Dios, es una comunidad donde todos tienen la oportunidad de crecer. Quizás por eso la Segunda Lectura habla tanto del perdón y la paciencia. ¡Crezcamos juntos como familia al comenzar este Nuevo Año!

Mensaje del pastor: Gracias a todos por sus esfuerzos: Estoy eternamente agradecido a todos ustedes por su generosidad. ¡Gracias por todas sus donaciones! La situación de la caldera del Salón de la Misericordia ha sido una gran preocupación este año, ya que la hemos estado reparando durante muchos años y llegamos a un punto en el que ya no era posible repararla más. ¡El contrato ya está firmado y, con su apoyo y oraciones, hemos comenzado este proyecto! Como parte de la campaña de recaudación de fondos de este año, el segundo y último proyecto es la reparación de las puertas de la iglesia. La semana pasada se firmó el contrato correspondiente y esperamos completar las reparaciones a principios de enero de 2026. ¡Gracias a sus oraciones y donaciones, esto ha sido posible para la parroquia! ¡Muchas gracias!

Conclusión del Año Jubilar
El Jubileo de los Prisioneros que celebramos el fin de semana pasado (14 de diciembre) fue el último Jubileo, y con él concluye el Año Jubilar 2025 en las diócesis de todo el mundo en la Fiesta de la Sagrada Familia (28 de diciembre de 2025), pero en Roma no finalizará hasta el 6 de enero de 2026 con el cierre de las Puertas Santas en la Basílica de San Pedro, tal como lo indicó el Papa Francisco en su decreto. (El Jubileo también comenzó antes en Roma).

Un agradecimiento especial a nuestro coro, al ministerio de decoración, a los lectores, a los ministros de la Eucaristía, a los sacristanes, a las encargadas de la ropa litúrgica, a los acólitos y a todo el clero: ¡Agradezco a todos los miembros de nuestro coro parroquial y al coro hispano por todas las horas dedicadas a la preparación y a la alabanza para glorificar a Dios y ayudar a la gente a orar! ¡Gracias por su servicio dedicado a Dios y a la comunidad! El comité de decoración ha realizado una labor excelente durante todo el año, cuidando las flores, las plantas, la decoración, la ropa litúrgica, etc. Gracias por todos sus esfuerzos para mantener la iglesia hermosa y brindar un ambiente agradable a todos. ¡Mi más sincero agradecimiento a todos nuestros voluntarios que mantienen viva la Iglesia con su dedicación! ¡Gracias a todos! Que la gracia de Dios nos llene a todos para renovar nuestro compromiso con Dios y con la Iglesia al comenzar el Año Nuevo.
