Dear Family!

A wise priest once said, “when man stands before the throne of God... all joy is restored, then there is nothing else for him to offer but to give thanks. Hence, the Eucharist or “thanksgiving” is the state of the perfect man. The Eucharist is the life of Paradise.”

Eucharist the only thing that draws us all to the church - it is rightly called the Source and Summit. 2nd Vatican taught us that Christ is revealed in the Eucharist. It is the power of the other that helps us to build the church in the Name of Jesus. We are never to imagine Christ acting as an isolated individual; the church is always associated with him, ‘clustered around him.’ We see the close bond between the Church and the Eucharist.

Pope Benedict taught that the Church is the celebration of the Eucharist; the Eucharist is the Church; they do not simply stand side by side; they are one and the same; it is from there that everything else radiates.

The Eucharistic body of Christ cannot be isolated from the ecclesial Body of Christ. This understanding paves a way to our realization that the Eucharist makes or builds the Church; It makes the communion of Charity. By my active participation in the Eucharist, I yearn for and associate myself in imitating Christ’s Love.

Eucharist is understood also as one of various activities and might be called into service for the greater good of what the Church is and wishes to do such as promoting inclusivity, diversity, multiculturalism, church growth, social justice etc. As Ralph McMichael puts it, “Rather than viewing the Eucharist as something the Church does, we could approach the Church from the Eucharist. The Eucharist is the event of the Church; the Church is the event of the Eucharist.”

At all masses, after communion we will be praying St. Thomas Aquinas prayer as recommended by our Bishop (Please see the back of the Bulletin). This is part of the preparation for the Eucharistic Revival and beyond. You will also find the Prayer for the Synod. Please use it for your personal prayer.

Thank you for all your support and prayers for our 8th grade as they graduated successfully on Monday and as we come to the close of the school year. Our Search Committee has been working hard in identifying and interviewing our possible Principal Candidate. I ask your prayers on them and for me also to make the best decision for our children and teachers at school.

My sincere thanks to all of your for your generous contributions towards the Bishop’s Annual Appeal. We are close to achieving our goal this year. I request all families to take part in it even if your gifts are small. Every dollar would certainly make a huge difference in helping the poor!

With your support and donations, we have begun “the fire door (12 Doors) project at Mercy Hall” and also a “Fire Alarm System for our School”. I can’t thank you enough for supporting these projects. I will continue to update you all the projects that we are doing in our parish plant.

I also urge you to take ‘Eucharistic Renewal at parish level’ seriously. Every presentation we offer monthly are opportunities for learning and growing in our faith and as a community. Your active participation is very important for our parish growth. May Jesus in the Holy Sacrament be praised; adored and loved. May the Church be moved to serve the Kingdom in Jesus’ Name.

SANTÍSIMO CUERPO Y SANGRE DE CRISTO

¡Querida Familia!

Un sabio sacerdote dijo una vez, “cuando el hombre se para ante el trono de Dios... todo el gozo es restaurado, entonces no hay nada más para él que ofrecer sino dar gracias. Por tanto, la Eucaristía o “acción de gracias” es el estado del hombre perfecto. La Eucaristía es la vida del Paraíso”.

La eucaristía es lo único que nos atrae a todos a la iglesia, se la llama con razón la Fuente y la Cumbre. El Vaticano II nos enseñó que Cristo se revela en la Eucaristía. Es el poder del otro el que nos ayuda a edificar la iglesia en el Nombre de Jesús. Nunca debemos imaginar a Cristo actuando como un individuo aislado; la iglesia siempre está asociada con él, “agrupada en torno a él”. Vemos el estrecho vínculo entre la Iglesia y la Eucaristía.

El Papa Benedicto enseñó que la Iglesia es la celebración de la Eucaristía; la Eucaristía es la Iglesia; no se paran simplemente uno al lado del otro; son uno y lo mismo; es desde allí que todo lo demás irradia.

El cuerpo eucarístico de Cristo no puede ser aislado del Cuerpo eclesial de Cristo. Esta comprensión allana el camino para que nos demos cuenta de que la Eucaristía hace o construye la Iglesia; Hace la comunión de la Caridad. Por mi participación en la Eucaristía, anhelo y me asocio a imitar el Amor de Cristo.

La eucaristía también se entiende como una de varias actividades y podría ser llamada al servicio por el bien mayor de lo que la Iglesia es y desea hacer, como promover la inclusión, la diversidad, el multiculturalismo, el crecimiento de la iglesia, la justicia social, etc. Como dice Ralph McMichael, “En lugar de ver la Eucaristía como algo que hace la Iglesia, podríamos acercarnos a la Iglesia desde la Eucaristía. La Eucaristía es el acontecimiento de la Iglesia; la Iglesia es el acontecimiento de la Eucaristía.”

En todas las misas, después de la comunión rezaremos la oración de Santo Tomás de Aquino según lo recomendado por nuestro obispo (consulte el reverso del Boletín). Esto es parte de la preparación para el Avivamiento Eucarístico y más allá. También encontrarás la Oración por el Sínodo. Por favor, utilícelo para su oración personal.

Gracias por todo su apoyo y oraciones por nuestros niños de 8º grado, ya que se graduaron con éxito el lunes y llegamos al final del año escolar. Nuestro Comité de Búsqueda ha estado trabajando arduamente para identificar y entrevistar un posible candidato para el puesto de directo. Pido sus oraciones por ellos y por mí también para tomar la mejor decisión para nuestros niños y maestros en la escuela.

Mi más sincero agradecimiento a todos ustedes por sus generosas contribuciones a la Campaña Anual del Obispo. Estamos cerca de lograr nuestra meta este año. Pido a todas las familias que participen, incluso si sus donaciones son pequeñas. ¡Cada dólar sin duda marcaría una gran diferencia para ayudar a los pobres!

Con su apoyo y donaciones, hemos comenzado “el proyecto de las puertas resistentes al fuego (12 puertas) en Mercy Hall” y también un “Sistema de alarma contra incendios para nuestra escuela”. No puedo agradecerles lo suficiente por apoyar estos proyectos. Los seguiré actualizando todos los proyectos que estamos haciendo en nuestra planta parroquial.

También les pido a que tomen en serio la “Renovación Eucarística a nivel parroquial”. Cada presentación que ofrecemos mensualmente son oportunidades para aprender y crecer en nuestra fe y como comunidad. Su participación es muy importante para el crecimiento de nuestra parroquia. Sea alabado Jesús en el Santísimo Sacramento; adorado y amado. Que la Iglesia sea movida a servir al Reino en el Nombre de Jesús.
