Dear Family!

Reflection: In the Lord’s Prayer we pray, ‘Forgive us our trespasses’, that forgiveness is prayed for after food which is life’s necessity. Saint Ambrose taught us, “For when the Lord forgave all sins, He made an exception of none.” Yes, God forgives everyone without exceptions. Forgiveness indeed brings blessings from God. As Saint Faustina once said, “He who knows how to forgive prepares for himself many graces from God. As often as I look upon the Cross, so often will I forgive with all my heart.”

Church teaches us that, “Christian prayer extends to the forgiveness of enemies.… Forgiveness is a high point of Christian prayer; only hearts attuned to God's compassion can receive the gift of prayer. Forgiveness also bears witness that, in our world, love is stronger than sin. The martyrs of yesterday and today bear this witness to Jesus. Forgiveness is the fundamental condition of the reconciliation of the children of God with their Father and of men with one another. There is no limit or measure to this essentially divine forgiveness…. The communion of the Holy Trinity is the source and criterion of truth in every relationship. It is lived out in prayer, above all in the Eucharist”. (CCC 2844, 2845)

It is indeed our Christian responsibility that we are reconciled with God and make every effort to reconcile our dear and near ones with God. This reconciliation heals, builds and makes whole our community where God is the unifying power. This community is led by the awesome presence of God as Jesus assures us, “Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”

Thank you Welcoming Committee! A special word of thanks to our Welcoming Committee for hosting the welcoming reception for Fr. Wilson. Welcoming and greeting are the hallmarks of our church. It reflects the mind and heart of the Church. We need more volunteers to be part of this ministry and expand it to welcoming all people on Sundays who come into our church and show them a sense of community and family. The only qualifications for this ministry are to dress respectfully, a good smile and a heart full of joy! We wish the best for Fr. Wilson and pray for him.

Altar-Server Prayer Service & Training: I thank all the parents and children who were part of the special prayer service presided by Fr. Wilson. Fr. Wilson will be the director for the Altar-Servers. Please enroll your children in this important ministry as they grow close to Jesus in the Eucharist. Future vocations depend on it! I also thank the Welcoming Committee in hosting the gathering at Mercy Hall.

Eucharistic Revival Monthly Seminar: On September 13th we will have the next hour of learning about the Eucharist. This seminar will be a little different from the rest. The presenters will be lay people. The topic is “How does a lay person attend Mass”. This will be more relating to ordinary people compared to some difficult church theology. Once again, I leave it to your good hearts to make every attempt to attend this important event. It would be a great joy to see new faces who never had the opportunity so far. Come and be part of our parish family!

Martha Ministry and Facilities & Repairs Team: I thank all the volunteers who are regularly (Every Saturday) involved in these ministries. There is so much repair work and cleaning needed in Church, Mercy Hall and the rectory. The volunteers cooked breakfast for our First Saturday Clergy Prayer and Mass. (All clergy pray together, attend mass together and then have breakfast together every 1st Saturday.) We thank them for their service. The volunteers helped pave the concrete pathway between the rectory and the church. We thank them for their hard work. Even if you can spend a half hour in helping your parish, it goes a long way! Garden Ministry: We have done a great job in beautifying the inside of the church, The church needs a facelift outside with nice plants and flowers. We are a forming a garden group that could work with me in beautifying the space around church. If you would like to help us with Gardening, please call the office 908-454-0112.

Reflexión: En el Padrenuestro oramos: “Perdónanos nuestras ofensas”, que se pide perdón después del alimento que es necesidad de la vida. San Ambrosio nos enseñó: “Porque cuando el Señor perdonó todos los pecados, no hizo excepción de ninguno”. Sí, Dios perdona a todos sin excepción. De hecho, el perdón trae bendiciones de Dios. Como dijo una vez santa Faustina: “Quien sabe perdonar se prepara muchas gracias de Dios. Cuantas veces mire la Cruz, tantas veces perdonaré con todo mi corazón”.

La Iglesia nos enseña que “la oración cristiana se extiende al perdón de los enemigos… El perdón es un punto culminante de la oración cristiana; sólo los corazones sintonizados con la compasión de Dios pueden recibir el don de la oración. El perdón también testimonia que, en nuestro mundo, el amor es más fuerte que el pecado. Los mártires de ayer y de hoy dan este testimonio de Jesús. El perdón es la condición fundamental de la reconciliación de los hijos de Dios con su Padre y de los hombres entre sí. No hay límite ni medida para este perdón esencialmente divino…. La comunión de la Santísima Trinidad es fuente y criterio de verdad en toda relación. Se vive en la oración, sobre todo en la Eucaristía”. (CCC 2844, 2845)

De hecho, es nuestra responsabilidad cristiana reconciliarnos con Dios y hacer todo lo posible para reconciliar a nuestros seres queridos y cercanos con Dios. Esta reconciliación sana, construye y completa nuestra comunidad donde Dios es el poder unificador. Esta comunidad es guiada por la asombrosa presencia de Dios, como Jesús nos asegura: "Donde dos o tres están reunidos en mi nombre, allí estoy yo en medio de ellos".

¡Gracias Comité de Bienvenida! Un agradecimiento especial a nuestro Comité de Bienvenida por organizar la recepción de bienvenida para el P. Wilson. La bienvenida y el saludo son las características distintivas de nuestra iglesia. Refleja la mente y el corazón de la Iglesia. Necesitamos más voluntarios para ser parte de este ministerio y expandirlo para dar la bienvenida los domingos a todas las personas que vienen a nuestra iglesia y mostrarles un sentido de comunidad y familia. ¡Los únicos requisitos para este ministerio son vestir con respeto, una buena sonrisa y un corazón lleno de alegría! Deseamos lo mejor para el P. Wilson y oren por él.

Servicio de oración y capacitación del monaguillo: Agradezco a todos los padres y niños que fueron parte del servicio especial de oración presidido por el P. Wilson. P. Wilson será el director de los monaguillos. Seminario Mensual de Avivamiento Eucarístico: El 13 de septiembre tendremos la próxima hora de aprendizaje sobre la Eucaristía. Este seminario será un poco diferente al resto. Los presentadores serán laicos. El tema es “¿Cómo asiste un laico a Misa?”. Esto se relacionará más con la gente común en comparación con alguna teología de la iglesia difícil. Una vez más, dejo a sus buenos corazones hacer todo lo posible para asistir a este importante evento. Sería una gran alegría ver caras nuevas que hasta ahora nunca tuvieron la oportunidad. ¡Ven y sé parte de nuestra familia parroquial!

Ministerio Martha y Equipo de Instalaciones y Reparaciones: Agradezco a todos los voluntarios que participan regularmente (todos los sábados) en estos ministerios. Se necesita mucho trabajo de reparación y limpieza en la Iglesia, Mercy Hall y la rectoría. Los voluntarios prepararon el desayuno para nuestra oración y misa del clero del primer sábado. (Todos los clérigos oran juntos, asisten a misa juntos y luego desayunan juntos cada primer sábado). Les agradecemos por su servicio. Los voluntarios ayudaron a allanar el camino de cemento entre la rectoría y la iglesia. Les agradecemos su arduo trabajo. Ministerio de Jardinería: Hemos hecho un gran trabajo embelleciendo el interior de la iglesia. La iglesia necesita ser embelleciendo por fuera con bonitas plantas y flores.
