CCD (Religious Education)

Religious Education Options for 2021-2022 School Year

Online Homeschool Program

We first offered this professionally made interactive program produced by Ignatius Press as an option during the pandemic. It proved so positive and popular that we are making it a permanent option. The program engages learners with multi – media activities such as videos, interactive games, sacred art explanations, and automated assessment tools. It is available in both English and Spanish and is an excellent choice for parents who want to work with their children on their own pace throughout the year. We will order the licenses for you by August, after which you can begin the fun learning anytime, anywhere, at a pace that works for your family.

Traditional Weekly CCD Program

This program consists of regular CCD classes on Tuesday afternoons from 4:00-5:00pm at Saints Philip and James School on Roseberry Street. This program will begin the first week in October and last until April. If for some reason we are not able to have some of these classes in person, families will receive information on how to pick up their books and work at home.

So that we can order the correct number of books for the traditional program and the licenses for the Online program, we ask that you kindly fill out the registration form found HERE. Please complete one form for each child who will be attending from your family who will be attending our CCD program. If we do not hear from you by June 15, you will be enrolled in the program you chose last year. If you child was not Baptized at Saint Philip and Saint James Church, please submit a copy of their Baptismal Certificate to the parish office when you register.

The fee for CCD is $50 per child – with a limit of no more than $100 per family. If this is a hardship for you, simply speak with Fr. John. No student will be denied religious education in our parish for financial reasons.

For students entering grade 8, Confirmation classes will be held on Tuesdays with the Traditional CCD program or on certain Sundays at 10:00am in Mercy Hall (430 South Main Street). Please use the above link to register for the 8th grade Confirmation Program.

Please call the Parish Office at 908-454-0112 if you have any questions. We will be happy to help you register your child for CCD in our parish.

Catechists teach CCD (religious education) classes to parish children. Aids assist catechists in many ways. We are always looking for good-hearted people who are willing to help out in this important ministry. Background checks and Virtus Training (protecting God’s children) are required in this ministry.
