Dear Family!

Immediately after the Solemnity of Pentecost, the following Sundays are filled with festive aura that we continue to celebrate three most beloved Solemnities (May 26th - The Most Holy Trinity, June 2nd - Corpus Christi and June 7th- The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, at the beginning of the Ordinary Season, Part 2 (Part 1 of the Ordinary Season usually runs from after the Baptism of Jesus to Ash Wednesday).

Pope Francis created a new celebration in the Universal Church: The World Children’s Day. The First World Children’s Day will be celebrated this weekend (May 25-26). This weekend, the Church celebrates Trinity Sunday. Explaining the Trinity is often forwarded by ‘It is a mystery’ and followed by the story of the boy at the seaside with his bucket. Many even advised children not to pray to the Trinity, since Trinity is an idea or a concept. The word ‘Trinity’ is not found in the Creed which we profess on Sundays. But it is altogether Trinitarian in structure. “Christian faith is Trinitarian faith. Christian life is Trinitarian life. And Christian spirituality is Trinitarian spirituality” (Michael Downey).

God expresses most directly in Jesus as He is the communication of God. In Word and Spirit, God is speaking and breathing the divine life in the world. This is the way God loves us and gives us everything thus drawing us closer to the circle of love. The doctrine of Trinity can only make sense if it is understood in terms of Love and not in terms of administration. “The ancient wisdom that we share is: everything is created out of relatedness, sustained through relationships, and thrives on interdependence”. We learn what love, relationships and interdependence are all about from God who is love. Trinity is all about love and unity in fullness. Let us be inspired by the Trinitarian love and let us support the missionary efforts of the Universal Church.

Chapel Renovation: I thank all the volunteers who came to start the project by removing all the old carpet from the chapel. We have removed all the old wallpaper from the walls and put in new walls throughout the chapel. The chapel will have a nice oak wooden floor and a fresh coat of paint. I thank you for the donation to do this work and also for your support & prayers. We hope to finish this project in two weeks.

Church Doors: I thank Larry Coyle for volunteering to paint the main doors of the Church. The front doors are beautifully painted with a new color. We will power wash the front facade of the building in the near future.

Bible Study on The Acts of the Apostles: All are welcome! As you probably know that it takes hours of preparation to put together a Bible Study. I thank all those who have signed up for these studies. Every Thursday at 1:30pm in Mercy Hall we gather to study the scripture. It is never too late to join the study. Every time you participate you will appreciate the rich treasures of the Wisdom of the Word of God.

Eucharistic Renewal: Our next Eucharistic Revival Seminar will be on Wednesday, June 12th at 6:30pm. The topic will be on the Eucharistic Teachings of the Church. I continue to encourage you to be part of this important community learning.

Garden Ministry: If you would like to join me in growing vegetables at the Rectory garden so the vegetables can be shared with the soup kitchen on Saturdays, please call the office. You are most welcome to be part of this important ministry. We are flexible with time, open to creativity, and believe in team-work.

Bishop’s Appeal: My sincere thanks to all of you for supporting our Bishop’s Annual Appeal 2024. So far we have pledged $51,170 which is 65% of our goal ($78,000). Thank you for your generosity. I am sure some of you are making their contributions in late May. I strongly encourage you to support our Bishop and all the people who are going to be benefitting from this appeal.

Santísima Trinidad

¡Querida familia!

Inmediatamente después de la Solemnidad de Pentecostés, los domingos siguientes se llenan de un aura festiva que continuamos celebrando tres de las más queridas Solemnidades (26 de mayo - La Santísima Trinidad, 2 de junio – Santísimo Cuerpo y Sangre de Cristo y 7 de junio - El Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, en el comienzo del Tiempo Ordinario, Parte 2 (La Parte 1 del Tiempo Ordinario generalmente va desde después del Bautismo de Jesús hasta el Miércoles de Ceniza).

El Papa Francisco creó una nueva celebración en la Iglesia Universal: el Día Mundial del Niño. Este fin de semana (25 y 26 de mayo) se celebrará el Primer Día Mundial del Niño. Este fin de semana, la Iglesia celebra el Domingo de la Trinidad. La explicación de la Trinidad suele ir acompañada de "Es un misterio" y seguida de la historia del niño en la playa con su cubo. Muchos incluso aconsejaron a los niños que no rezaran a la Trinidad, ya que la Trinidad es una idea o un concepto. La palabra "Trinidad" no se encuentra en el Credo que profesamos los domingos. Pero su estructura es totalmente trinitaria. “La fe cristiana es fe trinitaria. La vida cristiana es vida trinitaria. Y la espiritualidad cristiana es espiritualidad trinitaria” (Michael Downey).

Dios se expresa más directamente en Jesús ya que Él es la comunicación de Dios. En Palabra y Espíritu, Dios está hablando y respirando la vida divina en el mundo. Así es como Dios nos ama y nos da todo, acercándonos así al círculo del amor. La doctrina de la Trinidad sólo puede tener sentido si se entiende en términos de Amor y no en términos de administración. “La antigua sabiduría que compartimos es: todo se crea a partir de la relación, se sostiene a través de las relaciones y prospera en la interdependencia”. Aprendemos de qué se tratan el amor, las relaciones y la interdependencia de Dios, que es amor. La Trinidad tiene que ver con el amor y la unidad en plenitud. Dejémonos inspirar por el amor trinitario y apoyemos el esfuerzo misionero de la Iglesia Universal.

Renovación de la Capilla: Agradezco a todos los voluntarios que vinieron para iniciar el proyecto quitando toda la alfombra vieja de la capilla. Hemos quitado todo el papel pintado viejo de las paredes y hemos colocado paredes nuevas en toda la capilla. La capilla tendrá un bonito suelo de madera de roble y una nueva capa de pintura. Les agradezco la donación para hacer este trabajo y también por su apoyo y oraciones. Esperamos terminar este proyecto en dos semanas.

Puertas de la iglesia: Agradezco a Larry Coyle por ofrecerse como voluntario para pintar las puertas principales de la Iglesia. Las puertas de entrada están bellamente pintadas con un color nuevo. Lavaremos a presión la fachada frontal del edificio en un futuro.

Estudio Bíblico sobre Los Hechos de los Apóstoles: ¡Todos son bienvenidos! Como probablemente saben, se necesitan horas de preparación para organizar un estudio bíblico. Agradezco a todos aquellos que se han apuntado a estos estudios. Todos los jueves a la 1:30 pm en Mercy Hall nos reunimos para estudiar las Escrituras. Nunca es demasiado tarde para unirse al estudio. Cada vez que participes apreciarás los ricos tesoros de la Sabiduría de la Palabra de Dios.

Avivamiento Eucarístico: Nuestra próxima charla de Avivamiento Eucarístico será el miércoles 12 de junio a las 6:30pm. El tema será sobre las Enseñanzas Eucarísticas de la Iglesia. Sigo animándolos a ser parte de este importante aprendizaje comunitario.

Ministerio de Jardinería: Si desea participar en cultivar vegetales en el jardín de la Rectoría para poder compartirlos con el comedor de beneficencia los sábados, llame a la oficina. Son bienvenido a ser parte de este importante ministerio. Somos flexibles con el tiempo, abiertos a la creatividad y creemos en el trabajo en equipo.

Apelación del obispo: Mi más sincero agradecimiento a todos ustedes por apoyar la Campaña Anual de nuestro Obispo 2024. Hasta ahora hemos prometido $51,170, que es el 65% de nuestra meta ($78,000).
