Dear Family!

As God created Adam and Eve in the original condition of holiness and justice (Catechism of the Catholic Church 375), we ask a genuine question as to what original holiness was as God intended. The catechism also teaches us that the Original Holiness was ‘friendship with his Creator’, based on sharing ‘divine life’ (CCC 374-375). And the Original Justice as intended by God is the harmony that existed ‘with himself & Eve, and with the creation around him (CCC 376).

Work was originally intended as a blessing without the element of toil and everlasting life is also a blessing of God as long as we remain in the divine intimacy.

The Catechism also warns us of the triple concupiscence that subjugates us to the pleasures of the senses, covetousness for earthly goods, and self-assertion, contrary to the dictates of reason (CCC 377).

Through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we regain and surpass Adam’s original friendship with God, his original sharing in divine life, and his original justice that he experience through his harmony with himself and creation. Jesus makes us his family by inviting all of us to do the will of God. Jesus the Stronger Man, seeks to bind within us whatever seeks to harm us, draw us to him in his passion and fill us with himself.

Farewell for Fr. Wilson Jerusalem
As per the decision of our Bishop and by the direction of Fr. Wilson’s Bishop, Fr. Wilson will be returning to his home diocese. We wish him well and thank him for his ministry in our parish. We will have a farewell for Fr. Wilson on Sunday, June 23rd after the 11:00am Mass in Mercy Hall. All are welcome! Fr. Wilson's replacement will be announced next week. Please pray for Fr. Wilson as he returns to his home country and his future ministry.

Chapel Renovation: My sincere thanks to Michael Michnej and the generosity of his family that this project was completed in time. We also thank our donors for this project. We have completed this important project completely, through donations and volunteers. Thank you for your support and prayers.

8th Grade Graduation: Our sincere thanks to the Principal, Vice Principal, and all the teachers & staff in making the 8th grade graduation so memorable for our children and families. We will also wish Bill Casey, Michael Smith, and Mary Bargowski the very best as they move on to their next phase in life. We thank them for their service to our children at school. The Pre K and Kindergarten graduations were also memorable for our children, thanks to all the teachers who worked hard for these events. Please visit the School website for more information.

Priestly Ordination at the Diocese: On Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 10:30 AM at the Cathedral of St. Francis of Assisi, Metuchen, Bishop Checchio ordained our 5 transitional Deacons (Deacons Randy Gamboa Espinoza, Joseph Ho, Larrydom Magdasoc, Dawid Malik, and Peter Phan) for service as Priests in our diocese. Please pray for them as received their first assignments to minister as priests.

Bible Study on The Acts of the Apostles: All are welcome! As you probably know that it takes hours of preparation to put together Bible Study. I thank all those who have signed up for these study. Every Thursday at 1:30pm in Mercy Hall we gather to study the scripture. Our bible study will complete Acts of the Apostles on June 20th and after the summer break will resume with an Old Testament book. Please see the bulletin for updates.

Eucharistic Renewal: Our next Eucharistic Revival Seminar will be on Wednesday, June 12th at 6:30pm. We will continue our Q & A session on Church Teachings about the Eucharist this month also. I continue to encourage you to be part of this important community learning.

Bishop’s Appeal: My sincere thanks to all of you for supporting our Bishop’s annual appeal 2024. So far we have pledged $53,462 which is 68% of our goal ($78,000). Thank you for your generosity. I strongly encourage you to support our Bishop and all the people who are going to be benefitting from this appeal.

¡Querida familia!

Como Dios creó a Adán y Eva en la condición original de santidad y justicia (Catecismo de la Iglesia Católica 375), nos hacemos una pregunta genuina sobre qué era la santidad original tal como Dios la quiso. El catecismo también nos enseña que la santidad original era la “amistad con su Creador”, basada en compartir la “vida divina” (CIC 374-375). Y la justicia original tal como Dios la quiso es la armonía que existía “consigo mismo y Eva, y con la creación que lo rodeaba” (CIC 376). El trabajo fue originalmente pensado como una bendición sin el elemento del esfuerzo y la vida eterna también es una bendición de Dios mientras permanezcamos en la intimidad divina.

El Catecismo también nos advierte de la triple concupiscencia que nos subyuga a los placeres de los sentidos, la codicia de los bienes terrenos y la autoafirmación, contraria a los dictados de la razón (CIC 377).

A través de nuestro Señor y Salvador Jesucristo, recuperamos y superamos la amistad original de Adán con Dios, su participación original en la vida divina y su justicia original que experimentó a través de su armonía consigo mismo y la creación. Jesús nos hace su familia al invitarnos a todos a hacer la voluntad de Dios. Jesús, el Hombre más fuerte, busca atar dentro de nosotros todo lo que busca hacernos daño, atraernos hacia él en su pasión y llenarnos de sí mismo.

Despedida del Padre Wilson Jerusalem
Por decisión de nuestro Obispo y por dirección del Obispo del Padre Wilson, el Padre Wilson regresará a su diócesis de origen. Le deseamos lo mejor y le agradecemos por su ministerio en nuestra parroquia. Tendremos una despedida para el Padre Wilson el domingo 23 de junio después de la Misa de las 11 am en Mercy Hall. ¡Todos son bienvenidos! El reemplazo del Padre Wilson se anunciará la próxima semana. Por favor, oren por el Padre Wilson cuando regrese a su país de origen y a su futuro ministerio.

Renovación de la capilla: Mi más sincero agradecimiento a Michael Michnej y a la generosidad de su familia por haber completado este proyecto a tiempo. También agradecemos a nuestros donantes por este proyecto. Hemos completado este importante proyecto por completo gracias a las donaciones y a los voluntarios. Gracias por su apoyo y sus oraciones.

Graduación de octavo grado: Nuestro más sincero agradecimiento a la directora, a la subdirectora y a todos los maestros y al personal por hacer que la graduación de octavo grado fuera tan memorable para nuestros niños y sus familias. También les deseamos lo mejor a Bill Casey, Michael Smith y Mary Bargowski en su siguiente etapa de la vida. Les agradecemos por su servicio a nuestros niños en la escuela. Estudio bíblico sobre los Hechos de los Apóstoles: ¡Todos son bienvenidos! Como probablemente saben, se necesitan horas de preparación para organizar un estudio bíblico. Agradezco a todos los que se han inscrito para estos estudios. Todos los jueves a la 1:30 pm en Mercy Hall nos reunimos para estudiar las Escrituras. Nuestro estudio bíblico completará los Hechos de los Apóstoles el 20 de junio y después de las vacaciones de verano se reanudará con un libro del Antiguo Testamento.
