Dear Family!

Understanding Divine Providence is beyond the powers of human reason. In the First Reading we see Job faced with the reality of how his own suffering and the conversations he has with friends challenges his faith. Job’s challenges at times make us wonder how little we know and understand the will of God even with great faith. “Therefore, I have uttered what I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.” (Job 42:3b-c)

The apostles in the Gospel were faced with the immediate danger of a storm and were helpless and powerless. We find ourselves in those situations of complete helplessness and powerlessness. The worst combination of negative forces, the worst hit to our faith is - if our helplessness and powerlessness merged with despair and pessimism, our faith loses its purpose in us. The purpose of our faith is to witness the love of God in and through Jesus Christ.

The Catechism teaches us that: “The disciple of Christ must not only keep the faith and live on it, but also profess it, confidently bear witness to it, and spread it: "All however must be prepared to confess Christ before men and to follow him along the way of the Cross, amidst the persecutions which the Church never lacks." Service of and witness to the faith are necessary for salvation: "So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven; but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.” (CCC 1816)

Farewell for Fr. Wilson Jerusalem
We wish Fr. Wilson well and thank him for his ministry in our parish. I thank all the volunteers who helped in hosting this gathering in Mercy Hall. Please pray for Fr. Wilson as he returns to his home country and for his future ministry.

Principal’s resignation and Listening Session at the School: With the support of the teachers and the School Council we hosted a listening session for the parents and grandparents of our children at the school gym on Saturday, June 22nd. I thank all who have attended the session and all your wonderful suggestions moving forward! Please remember and pray for all our teachers & the Search Committee!

Chapel Renovation: My sincere thanks to Michael Michnej and the generosity of his family in order to complete this project on time, which is now open. We also thank all the donations for this project. It will take a little more time to restore all the chairs, but we are on it! Please continue to pray for our projects!

Our new Parochial Vicar is Fr. John Fredy Triana Beltran
Fr. Fredy was ordained by our Bishop on August 22, 2020 at the National Blue Army Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima. He belongs to The Oratory of St. Philip Neri. After his assignment as the Vice Rector of the Shrine Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament, Raritan, our Bishop appointed Fr. Fredy as the Parochial Vicar of Immaculate Conception Parish in Spotswood, NJ. Father will be here on July 6th. There will be a welcoming reception for Father after the 11:00am Mass on Sunday, July 7th. Please come and welcome Father as he starts his ministry at our parish.

Bible Study: We have completed our Bible Study on Acts of the Apostles on June 20th. We will resume our Bible Study with an Old Testament book after summer. Please see the bulletin for updates.

Eucharistic Renewal: There will not be a Eucharistic Revival Seminar in July. We will have our next seminar in August. I thank all the volunteers who helped us in hosting these events. I continue to encourage you to be part of this important community learning.

Bishop’s Appeal: My sincere thanks to all of you for supporting our Bishop’s annual appeal 2024. So far we have pledged $54,312 which is 69% of our goal ($78,000). Thank you for your generosity. I strongly encourage you to support our Bishop and all the people who are going to be benefitting from this appeal.

12º Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario

¡Querida familia!

Comprender la Divina Providencia está más allá de los poderes de la razón humana. En la Primera Lectura vemos a Job enfrentado a la realidad de cómo su propio sufrimiento y las conversaciones que tiene con amigos desafían su fe. Los desafíos de Job a veces nos hacen preguntarnos cuán poco conocemos y entendemos la voluntad de Dios incluso con gran fe. “Por tanto, he dicho lo que no entendía, cosas demasiado maravillosas para mí, que no conocía”. (Job 42:3b-c)

Los apóstoles en el Evangelio se enfrentaron al peligro inmediato de una tormenta y estaban indefensos e impotentes. Nos encontramos en esas situaciones de total impotencia e impotencia. La peor combinación de fuerzas negativas, el peor golpe para nuestra fe es: si nuestra impotencia e impotencia se fusionan con la desesperación y el pesimismo, nuestra fe pierde su propósito en nosotros. El propósito de nuestra fe es ser testigo del amor de Dios en y a través de Jesucristo.

El Catecismo nos enseña que: “El discípulo de Cristo no sólo debe conservar la fe y vivir de ella, sino también profesarla, dar testimonio de ella con confianza y difundirla: "Pero todos deben estar dispuestos a confesar a Cristo delante de los hombres y a Síguelo por el camino de la Cruz, en medio de las persecuciones que nunca faltan a la Iglesia”. El servicio y el testimonio de la fe son necesarios para la salvación: "Así que todo el que me reconoce delante de los hombres, yo también lo reconoceré delante de mi Padre que está en los cielos; pero al que me niegue delante de los hombres, yo también lo negaré delante de mi Padre que está en los cielos. cielo." (CCC 1816)

Despedida del P. Wilson Jerusalén
Le deseamos al P. Wilson bien y le damos gracias por su ministerio en nuestra parroquia. Agradezco a todos los voluntarios que ayudaron a organizar esta reunión en Mercy Hall. Por favor oren por el P. Wilson en su regreso a su país de origen y para su futuro ministerio.

Renuncia de la Directora y Sesión de Escucha en el Colegio: Con el apoyo de los profesores y el Consejo Escolar organizamos una sesión de escucha para los padres y abuelos de nuestros hijos en el gimnasio del colegio el sábado 22 de junio. ¡Agradezco a todos los que asistieron a la sesión y todas sus maravillosas sugerencias para seguir adelante! ¡Recuerde de ore por todos nuestros maestros y el Comité de Búsqueda!

Renovación de la Capilla: Mi más sincero agradecimiento a Michael Michnej y la generosidad de su familia al completar a tiempo este proyecto, que ya está abierto. Nuestro nuevo Vicario Parroquial es el P. John Fredy Triana Beltrán
P. Fredy fue ordenado por nuestro Obispo el 22 de agosto de 2020 en el Santuario Nacional de “Blue Army” de Nuestra Señora de Fátima. Pertenece al Oratorio de San Felipe Neri. Después de su asignación como Vicerrector de la Capilla del Santísimo Sacramento, Raritan, nuestro Obispo nombró al P. Fredy como Vicario Parroquial de la Parroquia Inmaculada Concepción en Spotswood, Nueva Jersey. El padre estará aquí el 6 de julio. Habrá una recepción de bienvenida para el Padre después de la Misa de las 11am el domingo 7 de julio. Por favor vengan y den la bienvenida al Padre mientras comienza su ministerio en nuestra parroquia.

Estudio Bíblico: Hemos completado nuestro Estudio Bíblico sobre los Hechos de los Apóstoles el 20 de junio. Reanudaremos nuestro estudio bíblico con un libro del Antiguo Testamento después del verano. Consulte el boletín para obtener actualizaciones.

Avivamiento Eucarístico: No habrá un Charla de Avivamiento Eucarístico en el mes de julio. Tendremos nuestro próximo seminario en agosto. Agradezco a todos los voluntarios que nos ayudaron a organizar estos eventos. Sigo animándote a ser parte de este importante aprendizaje comunitario.
