Dear Family!

In funerals, at times in anger and depression, we feel, “God’s voice had been reduced to paper, and even that paper had to be moderated and deciphered by the proper authorities and intellects. Nobody wanted God in a box, just in a book. Especially an expensive one bound in leather with gilt edges or was that guild edges?” (Shack p. 66)

Every relationship has been known to God first. God has written the forward page or a preface or an acknowledgment even before we start writing our own books of relationship. We all owe our existence to God. Thus, the greatest loss in life is not death, but what dies inside us while we live. If a little girl’s death could make a great impact on Jairus, his family, and people, how much more our lives have the power to make an impact on our church and society?

All those who just saw the dead body of the girl were sent out of the room but all those who saw and believed Jesus as the author of life were invited into the room. ‘Talitha Koum’ is an invitation to a life with Christ. We are all meant for wholeness and that wholeness comes in sharing.

Principal’s Resignation and Listening Session at the School: With the support of the teachers and the School Advisory Council we hosted the listening session for the parents and grandparents of our children at school gym on Saturday, June 22nd. I thank all who have attended the session and all your wonderful suggestions moving forward! Please remember and pray for all our teachers & the Search Committee! Our next meeting and updates are scheduled on July 11th.

Our new Parochial Vicar is Fr. John Fredy Triana Beltran
While I request you to continue to pray for Fr. Wilson and his new assignment, we welcome our new priest, Fr. Fredy. Fr. Fredy was ordained by our Bishop on August 22, 2020, at the National Blue Army Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima. He belongs to The Oratory of St. Philip Neri. After his assignment as the Vice Rector of the Shrine Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament, Raritan, our Bishop appointed Fr. Fredy as the Parochial Vicar of Immaculate Conception Parish in Spotswood, NJ. Father will be here on July 6th. There will be a welcoming reception for Father after the 11:00am Mass on Sunday, July 7th. Please come and welcome Father as he starts his ministry at our parish.

Eucharistic Renewal & Summer Mission at SPSJ
Fr. Fredy will be presenting our Summer Mission in our parish. Please save the dates! We will begin the Mission with Adoration and benediction, followed by Fr. Fredy’s presentation. I request you to spread the news. It would be a great opportunity to get to know Fr. Fredy as we welcome him in our parish. We wish him well and pray for him. I thank all the volunteers who helped us in hosting these events. I continue to encourage you to be part of this important community learning.

Bishop’s Appeal: My sincere thanks to all of you for supporting our Bishop’s annual appeal 2024. So far we have pledged $56,778 which is 73% of our goal ($78,000). Thank you for your generosity. I strongly encourage you to support our Bishop and all the people who are going to be benefitting from this appeal.

13º Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario

¡Querida familia!

En los funerales, a veces con ira y depresión sentimos: “La voz de Dios había sido reducida al papel, e incluso ese papel tuvo que ser moderado y descifrado por las autoridades e intelectos apropiados. Nadie quería a Dios en una caja, sólo en un libro. Especialmente uno caro encuadernado en cuero con bordes dorados, ¿o eran bordes del gremio? ( Shack p66)

Toda relación ha sido conocida primero por Dios. Dios ha escrito la primera página o un prefacio o un reconocimiento incluso antes de que comencemos a escribir nuestros propios libros de relaciones. Todos debemos nuestra existencia a Dios. Así, la mayor pérdida en la vida no es la muerte, sino lo que muere dentro de nosotros mientras vivimos. Si la muerte de una niña pequeña pudo tener un gran impacto en Jairo, su familia y su pueblo, ¿cuánto más nuestras vidas tienen el poder de tener un impacto en nuestra iglesia y sociedad?

Todos los que acababan de ver el cadáver de la niña fueron expulsados de la habitación, pero todos los que vieron y creyeron a Jesús como el autor de la vida fueron invitados a entrar. 'Talitha Koum' es una invitación a una vida con Cristo. Todos estamos destinados a la plenitud y esa plenitud surge al compartir.

La renuncia de la Directora de la escuela y Sesión de Escucha en la escuela: Con el apoyo de los maestros y el Consejo Asesor Escolar organizamos la sesión de escucha para los padres y abuelos de nuestros hijos en el gimnasio de la escuela el sábado 22 de junio. ¡Agradezco a todos los que asistieron a la sesión y todas sus maravillosas sugerencias para seguir adelante! ¡Recuerde y ore por todos nuestros maestros y el Comité de Búsqueda! Nuestra próxima reunión y actualizaciones están programadas para el 11 de julio.

Nuestro nuevo Vicario Parroquial es el P. John Fredy Triana Beltrán
Mientras les pido que continúen orando por el p. Wilson y su nueva asignación, damos la bienvenida a nuestro nuevo sacerdote, el p. Fredy. Parde Fredy fue ordenado por nuestro Obispo el 22 de agosto de 2020 en el Santuario Nacional del “Blue Army” de Nuestra Señora de Fátima. Pertenece al Oratorio de San Felipe Neri. Después de su asignación como Vicerrector de la Capilla del Santísimo Sacramento, en Raritan Nueva Jersey, nuestro Obispo nombró al P. Fredy como Vicario Parroquial de la Parroquia Inmaculada Concepción en Spotswood, Nueva Jersey. El padre estará aquí el 6 de julio. Habrá una recepción de bienvenida para el padre después de la Misa de las 11 am el domingo 7 de julio. Por favor vengan para darle la bienvenida al Padre al comienza su ministerio en nuestra parroquia.

Renovación Eucarística y Misión de Verano en SPSJ: Padre Fredy presentará nuestra Misión de Verano en nuestra parroquia. ¡Por favor guarde las fechas! Comenzaremos la Misión con Adoración y bendición, seguido por la presentación del p. Fredy. Les pido que difundan la noticia. Sería una gran oportunidad para conocer al p. Fredy mientras le damos la bienvenida en nuestra parroquia. Le deseamos lo mejor y oramos por él. Agradezco a todos los voluntarios que nos ayudaron a organizar estos eventos. Sigo animándote a ser parte de este importante aprendizaje comunitario.
