Dear Family!

We are Easter People, who worship the Easter God, and Alleluia is our song. We have just been to a funeral and cried bitterly. The blood-filled cross and the occupied tomb though initially brought fear among the friends; they gave them hope that resurrection is imminent. I wish you all a very happy Easter! Dear friends who rarely come to church! We remember and pray for you today that you be strengthened by our community of the faithful. We struggle with you in faith that our opportunities to pray together may increase in the days to come! Let us build the church of Christ together…

Jesus wants his disciples not to just experience the joy of Easter, rather the responsibility and accountability with which he carried the Cross. He wants all the run-away disciples to assemble for a just cause; more people to carry his cross, wipe his face; more to be at his side and beneath the Cross. Jesus’ own funeral was empty with loneliness and defeat; thus, in His resurrection He brings people together.

The first tree that was planted in the middle of Garden Eden opened their eyes – the tree of life and death. Here the second tree is planted in the middle of the Church opens our hearts – the tree of Death and Resurrection. Every time we are prepared to ‘die’ for our values, principles, religious sentiments, love, faith and hope, we are actually given the hope of Resurrection. Resurrection is a reward for those who chose this tree – a great life of love and service. Is this love free? Does this Resurrection come with no price tag? Think again!

Dear friends who rarely come to church! We wish you blessings and we pray for you. Please consider being part of the community of believers. Let your faith be reborn and your love for God be resurrected! Happy Easter!

Our Prayers for RCIA Candidates & a Sincere thanks to our RCIA Team! I thank Deacon Larry and the whole team of volunteers in guiding the RCIA team. As these new Candidates are incorporated into our community of worshippers it is all the more necessary and it is our obligation to pray for Preston Cryan, Emmanuel Sostre & Tairina Paul. Please remember all the candidates who have received their sacraments at Easter Vigil.

Bible Study on The Acts of the Apostles: All are welcome! As you probably know that it takes hours of preparation to put together a Bible Study. I thank all of those who have signed up for these studies. Every Thursday at 1:30pm in Mercy Hall we gather to study the scripture. It is never too late to join the study. Every time you participate you will appreciate the rich treasures of the Wisdom of the Word of God. This will be in preparation for the Easter Season 2024.

Confessions Let the good habit of going to confession continue in every season! As you are aware that we have confessions on Saturdays both in the morning and in the afternoon, I extend the invitation to all the Sacrament of Confession during the week also. It is never too late to go to confession. The priests are available during office hours on weekdays. Please call the parish office for more information.

Eucharistic Renewal: The next Seminar will be on April 10th, 6:30pm. The topic we will reflect and learn together is “Eucharist is a Community Prayer” presented by Monsignor John Gordon. As always I encourage all of you – that community learning is integral to our faith. Please make an effort to be part of the community and learn together. We started the Eucharistic Revival Seminars in our parish in May, 2023 and the next seminar will complete one full year of community learning. We will continue to spend this precious time every month for prayer and reflection. We are about four months away from the National Eucharistic Congress. Ordinary Maintenance Projects: We have formed a volunteer group to paint the front doors of the church in Spring. I thank all the volunteers who signed up for this project. Our chapel renovation will be starting soon as we are working to get a schedule ready to relocate adoration opportunities for parishioners. Now that the floor of Mercy Hall is repaired we have started to renovate the bathrooms on the 3rd floor. I thank all the volunteers who are part of this project. It is an old building and in need of constant maintenance. Skilled people such as painters, electricians, plumbers and carpenters are all welcomed to volunteer for these projects.

Domingo de Pascua de la Resurrección del Señor ¡Querida familia!

Somos Pueblo Pascual, que adoramos al Dios Pascual, y Aleluya es nuestro canto. Acabamos de asistir a un funeral y lloramos amargamente. La cruz llena de sangre y la tumba ocupada inicialmente provocaron miedo entre los amigos; les dieron la esperanza de que la resurrección es inminente.

¡Les deseo a todos unas muy felices Pascuas! ¡Queridos amigos que rara vez vienen a la iglesia! Recordamos y oramos hoy por usted para que seas fortalecido por nuestra comunidad de fieles. ¡Luchamos contigo con fe para que nuestras oportunidades de orar juntos puedan aumentar en los próximos días! Construyamos juntos la iglesia de Cristo.

Jesús quiere que sus discípulos no sólo experimenten la alegría de la Pascua, sino más bien la responsabilidad y la rendición de cuentas con la que él cargó la Cruz. Quiere que todos los discípulos fugitivos se reúnan por una causa justa; más gente para cargar su cruz, limpiarle la cara; más estar a su lado y bajo la Cruz. El propio funeral de Jesús estuvo vacío de soledad y derrota; por eso, en Su resurrección reúne a las personas.

El primer árbol que fue sembrado en medio del Jardín del Edén les abrió los ojos: el árbol de la vida y la muerte. Aquí está sembrado el segundo árbol en medio de la Iglesia que abre nuestros corazones: el árbol de la Muerte y la Resurrección. Cada vez que estamos dispuestos a “morir” por nuestros valores, principios, sentimientos religiosos, amor, fe y esperanza, en realidad se nos da la esperanza de la Resurrección. La resurrección es una recompensa para quienes eligieron este árbol: una gran vida de amor y servicio. ¿Es este amor gratis? ¿Esta Resurrección no tiene precio? ¡Piensa otra vez!

¡Queridos amigos que rara la vez que vienen a la iglesia! Les deseamos bendiciones y oramos por ustedes. Por favor considere ser parte de la comunidad de creyentes. ¡Que renazca nuestra fe y resucite nuestro amor a Dios! ¡Felices Pascuas!

¡Nuestras oraciones por los candidatos de RICA y un sincero agradecimiento a nuestro equipo de RICA! Agradezco al Diácono Larry y a todo el equipo de voluntarios por guiar al equipo de RICA. Estudio Bíblico sobre Los Hechos de los Apóstoles: ¡Todos son bienvenidos! Como probablemente sepa, se necesitan horas de preparación para organizar un estudio bíblico. Agradezco a todos los que se han apuntado a estos estudios.

Todos los jueves a la 1:30 pm en Mercy Hall nos reunimos para estudiar las Escrituras. Nunca es demasiado tarde para unirse al estudio. Cada vez que participes apreciarás los ricos tesoros de la Sabiduría de la Palabra de Dios. Esto será en preparación para la temporada de Pascua de 2024.

Confesiones ¡Que la buena costumbre de confesarse continúe en cada estación! Como saben que tenemos confesiones los sábados tanto en la mañana como en la tarde, extiendo la invitación a todos al Sacramento de la Confesión también durante la semana. Nunca es demasiado tarde para confesarse. Los sacerdotes están disponibles durante el horario de oficina de lunes a viernes. Por favor llame a la oficina parroquial para obtener más información.

Avivamiento Eucarística: La próxima charla será el 10 de abril a las 6:30pm. El tema que reflexionaremos y aprenderemos juntos es “La Eucaristía es una oración comunitaria” presentado por Monseñor John Gordon. Como siempre, los animo a todos ustedes a que el aprendizaje comunitario es parte integral de nuestra fe. Haga un esfuerzo por ser parte de la comunidad y aprender juntos. Comenzamos las charlas de Avivamiento Eucarístico en nuestra parroquia en mayo de 2023 y el próximo seminario completará un año de aprendizaje comunitario. Continuaremos dedicando este precioso tiempo cada mes a la oración y la reflexión. Estamos a unos cuatro meses del Congreso Eucarístico Nacional. Proyectos de mantenimiento: Hemos formado un grupo de voluntarios para pintar las puertas de entrada de la iglesia esta primavera. Agradezco a todos los voluntarios que se inscribieron en este proyecto. La renovación de nuestra capilla comenzará pronto mientras estamos trabajando para preparar el cronograma para reubicar las oportunidades de adoración para los feligreses. Ahora que el piso de Mercy Hall está reparado, hemos comenzado a renovar los baños en el 3er piso. Agradezco a todos los voluntarios que forman parte de este proyecto. Es un edificio antiguo y necesita mantenimiento constante.

Personas cualificadas como pintores, electricistas, plomeros y carpinteros son bienvenidos como voluntarios para estos proyectos.
