Dear Family!

At the beginning of the Lent, in the 1st Sunday we are given powerful readings that reveal to us the foundational aspects of sin and God’s continual grace in inviting us to holiness in freedom. In the first reading we read about the original sin. The woman took the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Taking this fruit of this tree is “equivalent to making a grab for moral autonomy. It is way of saying; I will decide what is right and what is wrong and I am not going to be told by anyone else. It is a form of idolatry.” (Geoffrey Plant).

The Catechism teaches us that “Jesus, Israel's Messiah and therefore the greatest in the kingdom of heaven, was to fulfill the Law by keeping it in its all- embracing detail - according to his own words, down to "the least of these commandments". He is in fact the only one who could keep it perfectly. On their own admission the Jews were never able to observe the Law in its entirety without violating the least of its precepts.

Dear Family!

What a weekend! Last weekend was a tough one as I witnessed 8 people for the 9am Mass and just 1 person for the 11am Mass. We continued to celebrate all the masses and prayed for all of you! As we slowly getting back to our routines, a joyous feast is given to us. On Monday, the Universal Church celebrates the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord. (2nd of February). As we see, this event is recorded only in the Gospel of Luke. Luke presents the Holy Family as an observant family, always did things in accordance with the Law.
